When To Use a Business Broker

Business brokers are great for selling companies that are small retail and “main-street” businesses with revenues under $1 million. The transactions are similar to real estate transactions and most advertising is done on the internet and other means similar to real estate advertising. Their target buyers are individual investors looking for a small business. Business brokers typically charge a higher percentage of the transaction size.

If your business has revenues in excess of $2 million, a business broker is probably not right for you.
