Neil has a diverse background in mergers and acquisitions, operations, and management consulting. Prior to founding Orion Capital Group, Neil co-founded a manufacturing outsourcing firm. During his tenure, Neil acted as the lead for two strategic acquisitions, and eventually worked closely with the board of directors to lead the sale of the firm.
Prior to that, Neil managed a Jefferies Capital Partners portfolio company where he led the company's transition from a position of financial and operational distress to position of profitability. In his early career, Neil was a management consultant at SRI International and another small consulting firm where he focused on developing strategic recommendations for numerous clients in the biotech, medical device, and material technology industries.
Neil regularly gives speeches and presentations to CEO groups and industry groups nationwide regarding topics such as increasing private company value and maximizing wealth through the sale of closely-held and family-owned companies. He is also regularly quoted in reputable publications such as Inc, Entrepreneur, Businessweek, Forbes and the Silicon Valley Business Journal and has been named a top 40 Under 40 by The M&A Advisor in 2010.
Neil has a B.S. in Bioengineering from the University of California, San Diego and has lived in Japan and conducted extensive business in India, China and Latin America. Neil is a member of Vistage, the Alliance of CEOs and the Menlo Park Rotary Club. Neil has Series 62 and 63 securities licenses and a California broker’s license. |

Rick has an extensive investment banking and accounting background. He has had leadership responsibility for transactions involving mergers, acquisitions, restructurings and capital-raises. The total value of these transactions exceeds $10 billion and involves companies in a variety of industries including high-tech, medical products, telecommunications, financial services, transportation, general industrial and consumer products.
Rick spent twelve years at the North American affiliate of NM Rothschild & Sons where he provided financial advice to US and European-based companies. He also launched and managed a newly established corporate transaction development effort at Banc of America Securities where he assisted the firm's merger and acquisition clients with corporate development, strategic analysis and strategic planning. In 2004, Rick became COO of Connectance, a healthcare information technology company.

Dr. Gurpreet Ratra, PhD, MBA

Gurpreet has deep expertise in biotechnology, from both an investment banking perspective and from drug development perspective. As a biotechnology equity analyst, Gurpreet was involved in the analysis and valuation of small and mid-cap companies in several therapeutic areas including HCV, metabolic and autoimmune diseases, cancer, stem cells and diagnostics.
Gurpreet also has several years of experience in preclinical drug development strategies including study design for pharmacologic and toxicologic evaluation, data examination and preparation of reports for FDA submissions. He started his career as a post-doctoral research fellow at UC Berkeley, and has published papers in the fields of drug action and safety. He has also acted as a consultant to the biotechnology and venture capital industries.
Gurpreet has a PhD in pharmacology & toxicology from St. Bartholomew's Medical School, University of London with an expertise in drug-induced mechanisms of hepatic injury, and an MBA from Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley, with a focus on finance, technology assessment and venture capital. |

Tim Turley,

Tim is a CPA and specializes in business valuations of private firms engaged in sales and purchases, mergers and acquisitions, buy-sell agreements, and fairness opinions.
Tim has worked in various marketing roles in Silicon Valley in the semiconductor and software sectors. At Broadcom, he was a Program Manager for the Wireless Business Group, marketing Wi-Fi product lines to Dell and HP accounts. At GCT Semi, he was Director of Marketing, leading business development efforts in the emerging Bluetooth market. He has also had Senior Product Management roles at ClearOne Communications, Sun, and Fujitsu, leading product development and marketing of audio conferencing, wireless messaging, and networking products respectively.
Tim received a B.A. from the University of Tennessee, M.S.E. from Virginia Polytechnic Institute, M.B.A. from the University of Chicago, and is a registered CPA in the State of California. |

Bill brings an extensive background in business operations and general management to Orion. His experience spans executive management at Hewlett-Packard, AT&T Wireless and Xerox to the successful formation of several software and manufacturing startups. Bill’s functional expertise is in marketing and sales where he has demonstrated success in commercializing technology for mass markets.
Bill has participated in a number of business transactions both on the buy and sell-side. Most recently, while serving as Managing Director of a medical laser company he played a key role in completing the sale of the business including identifying interested buyers, defining valuation and evaluating terms of the sale for the ownership. He holds an MBA from Western Michigan University and a BS from Valparaiso University. |

Carol Bennett, MBA

Carol has over 20 years of international business experience including mergers and acquisitions, corporate strategy, operations management and management consulting. She has valuable experience in the renewable energy and chemicals markets where she has advised companies considering strategic expansion in these areas as well as authored several publications on topics such as solar energy, sustainability or bio-based chemicals.
Carol also spent 10 years in Zurich, Switzerland working for Sulzer where she most recently managed the company’s acquisition and planning department. During this time she led a team which completed over 35 transactions including acquisitions, divestitures, management buy-outs and joint ventures totaling more than $800 million in value.
Carol holds a B.S. degree in chemical engineering from N.C. State University and an MBA from Thunderbird in Arizona. She is conversant in German and Mandarin.
